National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL)

HLTA is a proud supporter of NJTL - the National Junior Tennis and Learning organization that is part of USTA.  Our support is not limited to financial support, we also offer assistance with activities held throughout the summer through volunteer support.

19th annual Holiday Cheer Tennis Tournament

The 19th annual Holiday Cheer Tennis Tournament will be held December 15-16, at Memorial Park Tennis Center (MPTC).  This event is supported by HLTA and is a year-end celebration in the form of a tournament designed to get kids out meeting new people and utilizing their tennis skills and knowledge.  NJTL is looking for volunteers to help during the following shifts:

Friday, December 14:  2-3:30 p.m. at the Youth Tennis Office (trailer behind courts 11 & 12 at MPTC)  This is the time the check-in bags are assembled for distribution to each player.  3-5 volunteers

Saturday, December 15:  8 a.m.-12 p.m. or 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at MPTC.  Help is needed: (1) on-court to assist with scoring or just to monitor warm-ups, etc., (2) handling check-in and collection of non-perishable food items, (3) organizing, posting winning tickets and distributing door prizes, (4) lunch helpers, trophy handouts, etc., and more!

Sunday, December 16:  Needs and times to be determined based on draw size and weather.  Most likely play will run 1-4 p.m. unless rain inhibits play on Saturday.

Please let Emily Shaefer - emilysch@aol.com - know if you can volunteer for any or all of the three shifts.
